You do not need to decide right away which artworks to keep. A simple storage system can help you hold everything safely until you are ready for a book.
Use one box per child
Choose a medium sized box or folder for each child. Label it with their name and the year.
Add artwork as it comes home
Place new pieces in the box without sorting. This keeps everything in one place and removes the pressure to decide immediately.
Review once or twice a year
At the end of each term or year, look through the box and choose the pieces that feel most meaningful.
Keep fragile items separate
If a piece is textured or three dimensional, wrap it in tissue paper and place it on top of the flat pieces.
Store the box somewhere dry
A cupboard or shelf works well. Avoid damp areas so the artwork stays in good condition.
A simple system helps you enjoy your child’s creativity without feeling overwhelmed!
